"A Planting We Will Go"

This past Wednesday we were able to get out our early crops, just in time for some flash flooding! Thankfully the farms are up on hills, please send some good vibes to those in low-lying areas. The weather was absolutely perfect on Wednesday though!

Bet you didn't know a Chevy Malibu was the perfect all-around farm vehicle ;)

Corn - we transplanted about 200 little tiny ears of corn ... never again ... unless we are eating fresh corn on the cob on July 4th, then maybe again. But I will still complain about it the entire time and for a couple days afterward.

Onions.

Anyone know what the device in the background is?

It's called a bootlegger - at least that is what husband's family calls it, it may have some fancy name. It was an absolute gem in transplanting the cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and lettuce.

Gobble Gobble!

All finished! Not bad for 3 1/2 hours very hurried after-work planting, trying to beat the dark!
You can't see them, but there are lots of seeds under the earth too - peas, greens, radishes, beets, rutabaga, turnips, carrots, oh my!

Corn.

Onions.

Lettuce.

Cabbage.

Broccoli and cauliflower.
