Year in Review

It's been a busy year for Single Tree Farms!! Here's a look back at everything going on since our last post!

We acquired some bovine companions - Meet Mama Dollie, Mollie, and Festus!

*Mollie (black and white) has since been sold - we bought the cow and calves with the intent of selling the heifer and processing the steer for beef.

We preserved and stored away our yummy harvest for winter.

We bought a bunch of baby chickies to add to our flock - oh how they grow!

*Rooster is from last year's hatching, but isn't he a pretty boy?

We sold our first goat babies, and now have six new little ones!

Apollo

Artemis

Padfoot

Prongs

Lucy

Ethel

Serena also had a new litter of buns, who have all gone to their new homes.

And we're already knee-deep in this year's garden!

B built me some lovely raised beds for herbs, lettuce, strawberries, asparagus, and rhubarb! Yay!

Stick around to see our adventures, and follow us on Facebook (Single Tree Farms) - we are MUCH better about regularly updating Facebook!

Planting Season

I have an inexplicable love for the movie "For Richer or Poorer." I can't explain it. I've driven Brandon crazy with it. I've watched it to the point it is worn and skips in places. You get the idea.

As planting season is upon us, and goats are kidding, and chickens are hiding nests, and we have finally given in and let Buffy hatch some eggs, we almost wish that our 'cousins' would come visit for planting season.

Oh well. We still get it done ;)

*The thing Brandon and Michael are using to plant the onions is a Stand 'n Plant. It's a life - and knee - saver.
